High 5’s & 10’s

Special Education students many time struggles with counting coins. Usually the struggle lies in the similar but different patterns of skip counting by 5’s and 10’s.

They usually can skip count by 5’s and 10’s separately but if you have 3 nickels and 2 dimes, the patterns then become mixed and thus the struggle begins.

Make sure they understand the 100’s chart and use the 100’s chart when they first try this game.

I am a Math Educator who loves what I do!

I serve from a cognitive science & social emotional learning mindset.

Learning is easier when you have teachers who understands why students are struggling and

can predict what they may struggle with in the future.

During the summer of 1991, I was working as a computer teacher at a summer camp designed for students with different learning needs.

I enjoyed the summer so much, that I was determined to get my Teacher Certification and specialize in Special Education.

I love what I do and I am here to help!
